We have another lovely lady up for adoption.. the gorgeous Ruby
Here is what her foster mummy has written about her so please read carefully
Ruby is a very, very pretty dainty girl with the biggest brown eyes you'll see. She's a princess in her own right and can't live with other dogs, so needs a home of her own.
Ruby is a quiet, timid girl who needs time to get to know humans at her own pace. This doesn't take long in a home environment but needs watching when out on walks with strangers as she can show some fear aggression on the lead. She needs her own space and doesn't like to be fussed unless she comes to you for it. Once she trusts you she will let you fuss her for as long as she wants, then she's away in her own space.
Ruby doesn't do cuddles much, just strokes. She isn't really interested in playing with you but will play with her toys on her own when she is left.
Ruby needs a fairly calm home as she can be quite jumpy when there is a lot going on. She doesn't like being told what to do and she doesn't like being approached or touched from behind when it's not expected.
Ruby would need to live with older children or children who are younger but dog savvy. She has settled with my 8 year old dog savvy boy and has been comfortable around a 9 year old also dog savvy.
As long as Ruby is given time to get to know people, she settles fairly well but let it be on her terms. She's particularly fond of my male friend and preferred his company than mine when he was around.
Ruby is brilliant on walks and loves a good few hours out. She's not fond of other dogs, she will let them sniff her for a very short time but that is it , this will need some work.
Ruby is perfect overnight and settles well in her bed. I've not got a cage so she has had free range of the kitchen. She can be left for around 4 hours, any more and you'll have some wee to clean up when you get back. She isn't for of the car but the more you do it, the better she settles with travel.
She will go out for the toilet and get in her bed when told. There have been an occasional accident in the house but that's been when we have been socialising her with humans and it may have been too much for her.
Ruby would be the perfect dog for a calm home with no dogs. She isn't cat tested yet so ideally the only pet.
