Twinkle ❤️

Here is what her amazing foster mummy has written about this gorgeous girl. Please read v carefully and apply if you think you are the perfect home xx

The time has come to start finding our little Twinkle her happy ever after. This little girl is full of love and affection, she hasn't had an easy start to life and this can be quite evident on meeting people for the first time.

Twinkle is a bed hopper and is quite happy to sleep in bed with you, however on the bed isn't quite enough, so under the covers right next to you is where she likes to be! She isn't fussy who's bed it is, or what size the person BUT she does like to take up lots of space, so a big bed is needed.
When twinkle first came into our foster home, she was very nervous and actually seemed quite aggressive. We ignored her and let her settle and after a short while was snuggled up next to her foster Dad's feet.
It has taken a while for her to fully trust us and does have times where she is still unsure whether it's safe for her to try and come out. She loves her crate and goes to it when she is feeling unsure, when she goes in we never force her to come out, we use lots of gentle encouragement which normally works.
Twinkle is quite stubborn, she isn't 100% toilet trained and often prefers to wee just inside the back door rather than outside the back door! She is improving as the days go by.

Now for the not so positive part, little twinkle has separation anxiety, although she is fine to be left up to 4 hours in her safe space. Her anxiety is mostly around doors and people coming and going, people putting shoes and coats on and getting ready to leave.
We have worked really hard on this and she is much better than she was when she first came into us. She can mostly be distracted when people are leaving but does yap and try to jump the stair gate when not distracted. She is easily calmed by being stroked and soon forgets that the door has opened and closed again. She is very, very clever and has been known to jump the stair gate and can open doors. So you'd need to be sure doors are locked and things are put into place to limit her access to door handles!!

We feel it's important that when she finds her happy ever after, where possible a meet and greet is done prior to her going.

Twinkle is a really affectionate girl and adores children HOWEVER if she is put in a situation she isn't happy with, like being put outside she would give a warning snap, for this reason it's important that she is either rehomed with children who understand her needs or a child free home where she can relax. She is currently living with children that are ages 6-15, who respect twinkle and know their boundaries around her. She does love a good snuggle with them and loves to go for a stroke.

Twinkle would happily live with another non dominant dog, she is still learning how to play. She does guard her bed (crate) but usually it's just to tell the other dogs to get out her safe place, she literally just chases them off.

Twinkle loves a walk on the lead, she loves to explore the outdoors and is a dream when on the harness and lead. For safety reasons she has not been tested off the lead whilst in foster.

So Twinkle in a brief statement, loving, cuddly, door obsessed tinker who loves the people she trusts.

She really does deserve her happy ever after, a life full of cuddles, kisses and lots of treats.
