💙 BENTLEY 💙
Bentley has come on so much in the month he has spent with us, lots of things seemed quite overwhelming to him and he definitely hadn’t had tons of socialisation. He is such a young playful dog and will bring his new family so much joy. Bentley is a hairless little chap
He is great in the house, while we are working from home he either chooses to snooze in a sun puddle near us or on the sofa downstairs. His favourite toys still seem to be his chew toys he came to us with but is discovering how exciting a good game of tug can be as well as a squeaky toy. In the evening he curls up on your lap as close to you as possible and falls asleep once we has given you plenty of loving licks.
At night he has been sleeping in a crate in our kitchen with no issues, but he does get a woof brush to take to bed which always seems to be a highlight for him.
He is food obsessed which does make training easier but he definitely needs boundaries when you are eating. He is being fed twice a day and the only other food he gets is treats on walks. He will try and take food out of your hand if you are eating something on the sofa so still needs a firm no but is learning everyday.
On walks he gets super excited by everything, so will definitely need continued training in this area, but has come a long way. He now walks by traffic with no distractions but can still get distracted by people, especially children. He is also super keen to say hello to any dogs that walk past, he will whine/ cry to get near them so we are still working on keeping him calm and teaching him how to interact. There is no malice to him, he just doesn’t seem to have learnt to socialise with dogs out and about.
With visitors in the home he can be quite excited, but does calm down in time. He can get a little jumpy so I think he would suit an adult only home, or one with older children used to dogs.
We don’t have another dog in the home and based on his excitement I think he would also be best in a dog free home for now.
He really is the loveliest boy and has so much love to give.
